im new to sentras and im getting a little confused..

okay first off i own a 90 240sx. love it.

bought a 97 sentra 5spd 4dr for a year round/winter car.

been researching different things here and there on it, getting some misc info on stuff, etc..

one thing i havent got answered yet, adn havent found and answer for is simply this

what is the difference between a 200sx and a sentra???

pics of both cars look practically identical, everything thing u read is 200sx/sentra, the only thing i can see for a difference is that 200sx seem to all be 2dr adn sentras are 4dr

if someone could throw me a link or something or just let me know the difference that would be awsome, adn help me in finding different parts along the line

also did they not make a se-r sentra from 95-97 or soemthing?

okay found a page and got info.

200sx was produced from 1977-1988 and was a rear wheel drive sporty car. these were known as s12's when the 240sx came out in 89 (s13 made from 89-94) they used the base chassis from a s12.

in 95 they got the idea to make a 200sx and used the sentra's b14 chassis as a base and made it off that. so basically a 200sx really is a 2dr sentra!

they stopped making 200sx in 98.

the 200sx was produced with 2 motors, either a ga16de that came with 115hp, 108tq or a sr20de which was the se-r model and had 140hp, 132tq.

in 2000 they changed the sentra's chassis and named is b15.

so basically the 200sx and sentra were the same cars.

Haha, yes. The 95-98 200SX is just a 2dr Sentra. Before that, 2dr Sentras were called... well... Sentras. They never made a 2dr B15, though I suspect it'd have been ugly as sin.

^^how can you say that seeing the 200sx b14 is alot better looking than the b14 sentra. Im getting sick of seeing every single car now days being a sedan. WTF is happening to the coupe! And if i see another hatchback like the 08 civic si i'm going to scream. Bring back the coupe!

Sports sedans seem to be the trend today. I agree, Nissan needs a entry-level sporty coupe or even hatch.

Nissan definately should try coming out with a 2 door coupe, its as if Nissan is falling behind or watching the competition

Nissan DOES have a coupe, it is called the 350Z. and "rumor" has it that they will be brining in a SER in a "coupe" style around 2009. (i think there is a picture/statement about this on nissanclub.com)

He meant more of an entry level coupe, which the Z isn't.
