Ok well im 20, drive a prelude with lots of cash in to the suspension and an intake is it for the engine.

now last night.... i was hanging with some people and one had a 91 abouts 240 with silvia front end and redtop sr20 with intercooler and a BOV loud enough to make me cream.

it was fast. alot faster than a H22.

to come to the point im looking for a 240 and go SR20DET. is it possible to pick up a blown motor car for around 500 and get a front clip for 3 grand?

im sure i will have many questions. if i sell the lude i could build one badass motor.

Its difficult to find a 240 is great shape, especially for 500. Blown motors are rare with the KA24.

I have 100% complete S13 SR20DETs for 2200, including SMIC and piping.

S14 engines for 3200.

I wouldn't suggest a front clip, as its a waste of money in my opinion, so long as you are buying an engine from a reputable source. Its also a waste of shipping, and if you buy from a company that you can trust, you don't need to worry about it anyways as there is nothing salvageable from a front clip besides maybe a dash cluster.

Hey Daunttless, how far away are you from NYC? I'm looking into swapping a redtop into my 1990 240 SX. I'd like to do it in the Spring so I'm trying to see what options are available for me. I'm also wondering if you guarantee your work. Thanks.

I bought my 240 for 800 bucks, it had a body damage and the engine was blown the chain guide had ripped off from the camshaft and just screwed up everything in the engine.

You can always watch ebay for both S13s with blown engines OR 240SX's with SR's in them. Neither are that rare on ebay but how reputable the people are is completely different. Id say get running but cheap 240 for less then 2000 and start from there.

does that happen often? yet another reason to get hold of a turbo for you all-motor fans out there...

nope he swore up in down it was a Ka24 with a vac leak lol. even though his red top said "turbo charged and intercooled" lol he said he switched valve cover. i asked why he had a turbo timer he said so it whould make him look like he had a turbo. i asked about the intercooler he said it was a "ricer air intake" than i asked about his apexi a/f controller he said its not hooked up to anything... boost gage.. he said it made him look faster.

than he said it wasnt even a 240 but a 84 mustang fastback

basicly he denied having anything lol so no according to him that badass bov was a vac leak lol

he basicly spewed BS for hours.

i thought he might be on thiese boards actualy....

i think he was joking with you. no 240sx owner would take ownership of a 84 mustang w/o a reason.
