Hello everyone,I just bought a 92 240sx (non hatch). The car as you know has a ka24de, and i have a auto trans. I have done some researching on doing a motor and trans swap such as the sr20det. I am curious on a few things regarding the swap and fitment. Now i have read that the auto driveshaft wont fit up to the manual trans. Is this true? Also i beleive i need a new flywheel as well. Im not very familiar with these cars since this is my first 240. also can i make my heater core hoses fit my bending them? What parts will i need new, and also is there any hints to make the swap easier. I have been a euro guy for a long time but have wanted a 240sx since i was 16. Now that i have one i want to have some fun. If some one could shed some light on this it would greatly help. I am looking forward to being a part of this forum, and cant wait to get my car going.

yes, the auto driveshaft won't fit into the manual transmission. You want to switch over to a manual, go look at the sticky at the top of the 240sx tech (this section), you'll find it for both s13 and s14's. You will see that yes, you do need to replace the flexplate from your at for a flywheel for a manual transmission amonst other things you'll need to replace.

TIP: Use a good drill bit to punch the hole in the firewall. A dull/weak bit will only make your life that much more difficult.
