What's nos? NITROUS@#$@#^! People don't use that word here : )

Is 72k too much for it? Mileage doesn't matter. What matters is how the motor was treated.

Well, yeah to a point. But there is a point at which distance and age begin to matter a lot, no matter how well you treat it.

I would rather have an older motor with higher miles than a newer motor that was beat to hell.

yea you can keep the oil changed and keep a engine maintained for 200k miles, but eventually, sooner or later its gonna quit, just becuse stuff gets old. but if you maintain an engine, it will last you SO much longer. thats a good find man. 2000k ain't nuthin don't seem like, just for a 450$ fix. i like you plan pretty much, but why dont you want to do the performance stuff first, and keep the kit and hood stuff till after you can kinda back up that "fast" look?

well.....my best friends dad ownd a body shop so im gonna have him look at the frame and such...and im gettin the hood and air dam first because it needs them and it looks like crap right now. if worst comes to worst....we can put it on the frame machine at the shop and it would cost me close to nothing.

My 95 came in pretty much the same condition as yours...how are you gona fix the passenger side airbag? When mine blew, it ripped a massive hole in the dash, and i'm wondering what i'm going to do about it. I just replaced the stock wheel with a nismo wheel rather than spending the $450 for new airbags and sensors. I like your plan..except for the Erbuni might i suggest something of a better quality? Cwest, bomex and other companies offer more tasteful front ends and are much higher quality. My car has 209,624 miles on it and it's still running really strong. I took it to my friend's dealership (he's a mechanic at the local nissan dealership) and all the mechanics were amazed it was still running and even more amazed it was running so well, so 72k isn't anything to worry about.

thanks issanni, i relized last night i could save the money by putting in a racing stearing wheel.for the passengert airbag im gettin a whole new dash also, it dosent matter what color because ill just paint the whole thing before it goes it.im going to e-mail the guy back tonight and tell him i just need the passenger side and the dash with the sensor, hopefully it will be around $300 now.when you installed your stearing wheel, did u need a instalation kit, how do you put it on?i personally like the erebuni kit and its the only one i like right now.was your hood smashed in?mine isnt to bad but it could benifit from a new one.thanks for the info.

Nice find! There is a write up I wrote in the 240 general section on things to look for when buying a '95 240sx, you may want to read it. Do a search, type in "purchase", and the post will pop up.

a guy I know is selling a complete '95 front end (he did a kouki conversion).

My pass air bag also blew, a dash is very hard to find at a scrap yard, and about $1000 CAN new from Nissan. I bought a MOMO race wheel, its nice. Replacing the air bag is big $$$. You may just want a dashcover for your ride, I am considering one.

read that thread I wrote, it should help you alot.

good luck, post pics once the ride is ready, and i think you can get him lower than 2k, closer to 1k and he'll probably still sell it. Haggle, its worth a try since the car is written off, its worthless.

Not sure if its the same in the states, but when car is totalled, its branded. Once a car is branded, it is very difficult to ever sell it again, at a decent price at least. But this may not apply in the US, not sure again.

cheers

Good advice from S14. Haggle down below $2K, because those are just the things that you KNOW are wrong with it. By the time you do the necessities (which you MUST with any used car) you're looking at more $$$$.

You're gonna need new tires, change out all the fluids (preferably to synthetics), clean the intake/TB/plenum, etc., etc. The little things will add up!

Here's the most important part: IF the bags have blown, it's probably been written off by the ins. co. That makes it a "salvage" or "rebuilder" title. ALMOST NO insurance company will give you a full-coverage policy on the car, which means you drive around with liability insurance ONLY. You dump a lot of $$$ into the car, and it gets vandalized (or some a$$hole with no insurance hits it), or you wreck it yourself, and you get JACK s*** for your car. All that $$$ down the tubes. Unless you can get it for minimal $$$, STAY AWAY.
