turbonetics single turbo. Best bang for buck. Only 8.5lbs of boost and 450hp at the crank. More hp than most of the superchargers. totaly tuned and perfectly safe for the stock motor. stock block can handle about 12lbs of boost or 425hp at the wheels.

what about nitrous, you forgot that.

ALl of those will void the factory warranty, and even if done correctly will increase the load on the engine and it's driveline at a minimum.

There are lots of options. Like stated the single turbo is the best bang for the buck.

The key to adding FI is to make sure its installed right and tuned.

I think before you put forced air induction on your Z you should consider a few things like how do you get the extra air out if your putting a turbo on?

Upgrade your intake.

Upgrade your headers

Upgrade your cats to high flow cats

Upgrade your cat back exhaust to help your turbo.

You see you can put a turbo or twin turbo or forced induction like a super charger but you need to do other work to the exhaust system for the forced induction systems to work at there fullest potential or your almost wasting your hard earned $$$"s on a performance sports car that will see little gain for the money paid for a turbo without upgrading the entire air system.

This is what is on my Z and let me say it has the sweetest sound

STILLEN'S hot new exhaust for the 350Z is the result of months of development and testing. Made of 100% stainless steel, the system features dual pipes and mufflers and a lifetime warranty. It makes the most power of any 350Z system on the market and fits like a glove.

Retested on 9/11/03 in 5th gear dyno runs to add 16 HP at 5600 rpm and 14 Ft/Lbs at 4600 rpm. This is the first and best full cat back system available for the 350Z. The fit, finish, power and mellow tone have to be experienced to be fully appreciated. No other system available can compare!

Please note this item will ship in two boxes. Please call for accurate shipping quote, or place the order and you will be contacted to approve shipping rates before your order is finalized.

Now there is other excellent systems like Magnaflow Exhaust Cat-Back System - Dual

AAM Spec 3” MaxFlow True Dual Exhaust System is the highest flowing exhaust available for the 350Z

Good luck there is a lot out there. I went with Stillen because of there history and proven performance they improve yearly with their R&R department.

Good luck,

All those things you've listed are pretty much taken for granted,Upgrade your intake.

Upgrade your headers

Upgrade your cats to high flow cats

Upgrade your cat back exhaust to help your turbo

I don't really know much about 350z but i'm looking for something newer than my sr s13.

not knowing the engine you might want to larger pistons and maybe head work. as for exhaust you'd want atleast 3" but that's not really a concern, and for headers you'll be using a exhaust manifoldthe concern is you have to think of all the little things like intake manifold, larger injectors bigger fuel pump, fpr, fuel rail , intercooler, the oil lines for teh turbo and coolant lines, wastegate, bov(not necessarely needed) most importantly a tune, these are just some of the things hell need and i know im missing more stuff and this is not into detail

DO NOT DO NITROUS!!!

Just go with a single turbo set-up run a stock boost and it will be vary reliable with nice amount of power!APS has a nice single turbo setupTurbonetics also does to

If you don't have the money for a built motor then don't bother with a turbo.

The engine will only last so long. My stock motor lasted 17,000mi before it snapped a connecting rod. Some motors last a little longer, and some less.

If you can't afford to build a motor don't do it.

The only safe kit is the Stillen. You can get an engine warranty with it. If you can be happy with the Stillen and the weak power it makes then go for it.

I had a Turbonetics kit on my car. I had 10 psi and 410 whp tuned on a UTEC becasue the reflash didn't work for me as it doesn't work for everyone for some reason that was never figurd out. I got 17,000 mi on my stock motor with the Turbonetics kit.

I'm not discussing my situation. I'm speaking in general about turbo kits. Almost everyone snaps a connecting rod at some point with a turbo installed. Turbo kits create alot of tourque which weakens the rods.

JetPilot is correct. I have seen dozens of VQ's blow up with turbos. The rods are not strong enough.

Build the motor.

Eagle rods run like $600...CP pistons are around $700. .20 over block and decking is like $600. ARP studs I think are like $125 or so. It really isnt that expensive to do it right.

I have seen Turbonetics and APS kits blow, it isnt the kit, its the rods.

The best thing to do is buy a pre-built forged motor and then send them your motor and you will receive a core charge back. I think a complete bottom end will cost about $3500 for a basic short block with forged components.

It's better to do this befoe you blow your motor, becasue then you will lose your core return which is approx $1500.

If your going to go with a forged motor then you'll also want to go with a Greddy TT. The APS single or the Turbonetics aren't the best choices due to various issues each kit has.

BTW..... there is no such thing as just wanting "a little more hp". Doesn't happen.
