If you haven't done any mods to the engine, the Modified ECU will do you very little or any good.Advance your ignition to 20 degrees.Insulate your intake pipe, especially where it passes over the radiator, if that's legal.Remove the dampher bolted on your front pulley.Get rid of the engine powered fan, mine runs cool enough on the one electric fan, plus I added a spoiler under the radiator support to direct more air to the radiator. I don't even run the electric fan on some cooler nights.Get rid of the power steering, a little power gain, and greatly improved road feel. The biggest improvements i've done in my car had nothing to do with the engine. It's in where I located my weights. My track makes everybody weigh 22 lbs per hp,that's 3080lb for me. Yet i'm beating the Hondas which all claim 110 hp and weigh 2420.Also even probably as important is getting my toe and camber exactly right, front and rear.Remove the secondary throttles in the intake manifold. Plug the holes with JB weld.Remove the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator, and plug it. That may hurt acceleration on restarts on hot days, but it will be faster at higher rpms and all-round faster on cool nights.Do all your usual tune up stuff, use NGK plugs, put sythectic in everything, engine, trans, and rearend. Make sure all your grounds are good, and put heavier wiring to your fuel pump.
You'll notice almost all of that is leagal by about any tracks rules.
