I really love this car, and im a huge fan hatchbacks. For the price of the versa you are getting so many cool features. Why buy a hyprid when you can get a versa hehehe.

I went to the local dealer yesterday and they couldn't tell me anything about it. Just that it was going to come out sometime at the beginning of the summer.

I think it's going to be damn cool.

Not to be anti-Nissan or anything, but I expect that I'll likely go with the Honda Fit.

It seems really tough to beat it's feature set at the same price, and I like them a little better from an aesthetic standpoint, although they mangled the front ends for USDM (too long).

i know what you mean.

seems like a lot of auto makers are coming out with these cars.

the new yaris is one of them too.

I know these cars have been in japan for a long time (are the called K cars?)

but not America.

Well, technically I think that "Kei Cars" are cars with displacement under 1000cc, but the Fit and Yaris are close enough.

I drove a 5spd Yaris Sedan "S" today at a Toyota dealership in Delaware and I liked the car, build quality seems pretty good. Definitely not a performance platform, but a nice around town car. I'm not a huge fan of the center-mounted gauges though.

This segment of car reminds me of the mini wagon phenomena from the early 90's when Nissan had the Axxess. Anyone remember that one?

Unfortunately I can't take credit for the cool overlay imagery, that was someone over on FitFreaks.net (where I have become quite active).

Of course, there's always the option of a JDM front-end conversion, like this guy did on his week-old car:

Here's all the parts that are needed to make it work:
