so quick tid bit:

i own a 90 240sxmy SOHC blew (was **** anyway so w/e, and im giving it away if anyone wants it for spares)

so i swapped in a 95 KA from s14...propperly swapped down to the temp sensor and pigtail swap for cluster harness....

any way....this engine is also on its last leg ( makes me happy i only paid 100 for it) due to some boggie ness i cant figure out ( its been seafoamed...ran injector cleaner...checked FPR...new tight hoses all around...TPS clean. MAF new....Timing set to factory....TB cleaned, new plugs and spark plugs, dizzy good and cap as well) for the love of me....so i happen to stumble on another DOHC KA thats getting ripped out for an RBswap...got to ride in it and its in great strong condition

i want to drop this bad boy in ASAP...and i want to go turbo KA...

since the enigne is still out...and i can live a couple more days with my current engine...

my question is

what internals can be changed (aftermarket obviously) for turbo, but can be ran NA for a while until turbo kit is bought?

All of them.

You can put in forged rods, lower compression pistons, etc. Just use regular gas until you get the turbo. I even ran Crower V2 Cams without any ECU/fuel changes.

Yeah I ran forged pistons, rods, 8.5 compression, and bored 20 over, on a stock ecu with no correction for like 2 months it ran really well to.

It's all in the tune man.

Better safe on the rebuild then sorry.

Rebuild your motor and buy Florida's kit, IMO. Cheap and he seems to know what he's talking about :p

IDR who just made 500+ whp on a stock ka block a few threads down.. "I dynoed my show car" or something ,with what looks imho a fuct tune. Not telling you to go out and slam 25 psi on a stock car, but a good tune will get you going, look into a tuned ecu or an afc/btm setup, buy a kit or something like floridas he has a couple to choose from lol, and boost the motor of your choice. while ridding that build the other motor to your specs, when/if the boosted motor blows your ready for it. Swap motor in and boost easy for a bit till it breaks in and have a blast with that beast what I would do if I had cash to blow.....

Nissanfanatic s been running over 400rwhp on a stock block. It's all abotu the tune. But Fiznat had aem ems and something blew at just over 400. Only reason my engines have been going bad is I've been getting crappy rebuilders...Get enthalpy ECU and your golden.

Yea 900 bucks isnt going to get you far at all.

Btw the bogging thing your describing could be a big vacuum leak. Search NICO for the instructions on how to make a boost leak detector and hook it up to your intake manifold, then listen for escaping air.

It also sounds like your SOHC just had a bad MAF..
