So I know you can use a S12 CA18ET clutch on a DET, right?

I found a really cheap Centerforce II clutch for a ET that I want to use, I really dont want to use a SPEC. Are there any other inexpensive options I have missed? I am buying it today, so if you know any sponsers offering any deals, that would be great. Thanks guys.

yeah, one should work. you can also use one from a KA with a little modification to one of the guide pins iirc. if i were you i would throw down a little extra cheese and get something with a metal friction material, as lots of people have had trouble with cheaper clutches. you should give it a search, this has been covered to death.

Yes I did, thank you. I was hoping to lure out some new information as it hasn't been asked in a while as far as I have seen. The KA idea isn't for me as I know you have to drill out some holes a bit larger.

My freind's metal RB clutch ate his flywheel for lunch, a good non-metal one should not slip. Crap is crap no matter what it is made of. I suspect these E-bay special clutches are giving people the wrong impression. You could always go twin plate.

Yum!

Centerforce is a highly unorganized company that apparently cannot help me with a damn thing, so they lose the sale. I guess have to go SPEC even though I hate it.

toda also makes a very nice clutch. i wouldnt go with the spec, as ive seen even the strongest ones die prematurely. maybe you should try the cusco copper single, its pretty much the same thing i have. kayaba copper 3-puck w/ 550lb nismo press. plate iirc. its really easy to drive, and i would highly, highly reccomend it. copper bites fast but its glorious once you feel how she works, haha.

Man, why does everybody hate on SPEC? I've been running their Stage III clutch for a couple of years w/o a problem. When I pulled the motor to rebuild it and found a minor defect in the pressure plate (it didn't effect it's performance) I sent it back to them and they gave me a brand new clutch.

They didn't fix mine, they gave me a BRAND NEW ONE! I drove on it for at least 9 months, and no questions asked.

It's got a weird friction point now, but it's because I didn't step the flywheel (I didn't know I was supposed to). Even then it's never slipped, the pedal feel is light and though it's a little on/off, it's still very streetable.

sorry pwn is not a word according to my harraps dictionnary and the cusco is harder to find then the spec.... IMO but its still a good clutch whatever you say... not the best but still pretty good....

Why isn't it CA specific? It bolted up to mine just fine.

to add... kapower06 centerforce II stood up to 18psi/t28 launch & 20-25psi boost spikes. I'd think that was over 300+ ft-lb tq.

This is a bit late but:

You can get prices at any advance auto parts storedo not try and look it up on their website, I could not get it to list zoom

http://www.zoomclutch.com/stage_02.html stage 2 specshttp://www.zoomclutch.com/stage_03.html stage 3 specs

They list a ca18et clutch under an 84-86 200sx

I have a stage 4 ka24 clutch Over 2000 street miles and no problems yet.A fair amount of first gear studder/chatter while engaging

I bought a SPEC stage 2 from CIP, they hooked it up with free shipping. I don't really hate SPEC, but I keep hearing bad stuff about them. Oh well, its only about $300 so not the end of the world.
