okay so in november or so i was driving down the road like normal
then i got to my house and noticed a trail of fluid following behind me...
apparently the roads had a bump somewhere and ripped a hole in my pressure hose
then a week later i lowered my car on 15s on a kind of country type road and broke it completely =[
not the main issue here but heres a pic..you can see it hanging on the right side
Image
well ive driven it since fine all this time with no problems or issues whatsoever

all the sudden this week i go to turn and the wheel is getting stuck?
i turn the wheel fine driving but pulling in somewhere i have to force it to turn cus it sticks
now it kinda smells like my pump is burning from not having fluid all this time
..is this whats causing my steering to not turn smoothly?
do you think i should replace the high pressure hose or just disconnect the PS pump entirely?

thank in advance for putting up with me :gotme

^Killer, P/S on a 240 is dumb. See splintercell's DD for prime example

Ok i know this is not directly related but what is the point of removing the P/S from your 240 anyway?

Because it really isn't that hard to drive without it. And it makes your engine bay way less crowded and messy. Plus power steering is a pain in the a$$hole once everything starts leaking and going out at once. I just said fck it, pulled it all off and I love it!

Its only hard turning it when you are not moving. Replace the hose duh!! Dont be cheap and tape it together, or just remove it all.

can take off the pump though since the water pump runs off it. unless you do the sohc alternator brackets and sohc water outlet.

well i replaced the line and now have powersteering-and i hate it..its way to easy to turn and i seriously dont like it at all haha.
but i did figure out why my steering was getting stuck..my engine was sitting on my cross member which kept my steering from turning smoothly since the engine was quite a bit lower than it should have been...
problem? not anymore!

not have a new pressure line and solid engine mount i got fabbed up so my car is running good as new..
now if only i had ac like when i first got the car  ha
thanks everyone for your input and ideas-really glad i got this fixed before something bad happened!

Hahaha, I dont have power steering in my 240sx. parallel parking is a trip, but after a couple of drives I got used to it and when I would drive a friends completely stock sonata with ps, I would be like, "Holy hell.... this is dangerous hahaha."
