installed my agx's over the winter, just took it out for a drive the other day, everything seems fine. MY PROB, i installed the backs so that the knob faces toward the wheels, hence making it impossible to see the numbers. i just read that the knobs are supposed to face the differential  i just didnt really think about it when i put them on. is there any prob with putting them on this way?? other than i cant see the numbers?? please help, should i take them off and turn them around?? or is it not hurting anything??:help

I supposed if you got them in and they are not giving you any problems, then they'll ride ok without damage to the struts themselves, but it would be a good idea to get them turned around to the right way for ease of adjustment.

Also, since you can't see the numbers, you may get them adjusted so that the two sides are on different settings, and that may give you traction problems on the streets' curves and bumps when they don't bounce the same. In other words, weight may shift different from side to side when you are running corners fast.

Installing them backwards won't hurt the shocks, it will just make them difficult to adjust. However, turning them around should be pretty easy if I remember correctly. You should just be able to take the rear wheels off, disconnect the brake line, and take out the lower bolt that connects to the lower control arm. After that, you should be able to just spin the shock 180 degrees. To get some leverage, just put a screwdriver through the shock where the bolt goes and turn it.

or i mean i dont think you can just turn the shock like that, the spring has to be compressed, right?

the strut should be disconnected and the spring shnould be compressed so you can rotate the hat properly. trying to turn the damper while it's still attached to the strut tower is a PITA and probably not too good for the strut either.

if memory serves me correctly, the directions of the AGX's say to have the dial facing towards the wheels. I didn't like that so I installed mine with the dial facing the undercarriage. My mechanic friend just installed a set on his track car, and he installed his with the dial facing in. Neither of us have had any problems with the struts in either position.

ok good, im just going to leave them that way. i dont feel like tearing it all apart again. i can deal with just counting clicks when i adjust them. thanks for your help guys, much appreciated.

BTW is it clockwise for harder?? i cant remember.
