Well Ive been looking into a lot of 240s lately. And Ive come across a 1992 240SX coupe with a silvia front end with a sr20 for $9,500. Its local, and its pretty clean from the pictures. But the owner claims that its a 13 second car? I'm not sure because I haven't got the full mod list for it. But what do you guys think?

Heres some pictures:

Hmmm sounds pricey...whats up with the top (the paint)? Other then that it looks pretty clean man. Just wait for others to chime in.

Well all the 240s are pretty high in my area. For stock, or minor modded s14's go for like $15k and my limit is about $10k. The top is painted a primer black, but I'm planning on getting a widebody kit, and repainted the whole vehicle champagne.

It seems that it has most of the basic bolt ons (front mount, exhaust, apexi intake, etc.) Unless its extremely low miles or has other major upgrades its not worth the 9500. It does have coilovers and possibly other suspension work but still. Its definately clean. Are those gram lights? I like the car just wouldnt pay that much for it. You can almost get a fairly nice s14 already swapped for that much.

It has around 130k miles on the chassis, and I haven't spoke to him yet. *I will tomorrow* but I'm sure it has around 75k miles on the sr20. It has tein drift springs, and yes, their gram lights. Along with asking about the mileage on the motor, I'm gunna ask about the mod list since he is saying its a 13 second car. Also like I stated, a lot of 240s around here in So*Cal are priced rather high. And I'm not looking into getting it shipped from out of state.

Oh yeh, most sr'd 240s with bolt ons and a boost controller are 13 second cars. I ran a 13.3 last time at the track.

ya im sure it runs somewhere in the 13's even if its the stock turbo..if it has a boost controller then along with the obvious mods we see im sure its atleast in the high 13's maybe not the low..9'500 is probably close to what he put into so he's probably trying to get most of his money back between the car, sr, and conversion and mods..9'500 is a bit too high but IMO its not too bad..if they are all that price around you i would buy it depending on its quality and how it drives and the interior would have to be near perfect

i paid $4500 for my sr blacktop swapped 93 hatch. it was semi modded and ran in the 13s but i bought it off of my brother. if this car is exactly what you would plan on doing to an s13 and it is mechanically sound go for it. cuz til u would do al lthis to ur car and get it running properly after engine swap u would have like this much into it

worth of car (if no rust): 2,000motor and everything under the hood w/ exhaust: 2600-3000 (+?)wheels w/ tires:2000suspension (i see tein camber plates):800-1500 (+?)-----------------------------------------------------

thats just a break down. i'm sure he has some interior goodies as well. I also see a 5-lug conversion, so if he does have z brakes to go with, those run from 200-500 used.

try to talk him down to 8,000 or 7,000...everyone knows you cant make back what you put in...

Yeah I just spoke to him. I have the list in my garage for the mods on the vehicle. Im at a friends house. So I'll post up the list once I get home, and remember to do so. As for the interior, in the pictures. It looks rather nice. *except for the carpet on the drivers floor* Plus it has a racing seat.

Asking how many miles are on the motor is a worthless question (unverifiable, better just to check the actual condition of the motor than something arbitrary such as mileage). I'd say that car is worth in the range of $7500. It would be worth $9500 it had more engine work done and no stupid spray paint on the roof.

By the way, god will hate you for not keeping the car white.

I wouldn't pay that much for that... 6-7000 is plenty.

um the turbo makes a big difference. if it's an upgraded turbo, then it has upgraded fuel system and engine management. I can't tell what MAF that is but i kinda looks like a z32. if all that is done then it's def worth at least 8500.

yeah i would pay about that too. or look for a s14 with your limit that you said you have. but if the car does have an engine management system, fuel system upgrades and turbo upgrade then i would say $8000 or $8300

Right now Im deciding between another s13 with silvia conversion, and sr20det. Here are the mods: Black top SR20DET motor, Nismo motor mounts, Apex intake, downpipe, full 3" Megan racing exhaust, Koyo Aluminum racing radiator, Z32 fuel pump/filter/reg, Blitz blow off valve, JDM silvia front end conversion with Aero bumper and non projector headlights, full suspension, Limited Slip Differential, JDM front brakes(bigger rotors/calipers), Strut bar, Personal steering wheel, Nismo shift knob, This car is very fast, reliable and fun to drive and comes with power steering and air conditioning. 15" Sportmax wheels with 0 offset

So Im not sure on which I want. There both really really tempting! Im going to look at this one tomorrow or wednesday.

do not assume it has an upgraded fuel system and engine management based on a turbo being upgraded. man i have seem to many guys slap on some imitation turbo and sell the car for way to much.
