Im curious about d21 headlights.....

Ive always thought that 86.5,87,88, and 89 hardbodies had square headlights and those three hood inserts! But ive noticed that not all hardbodies have the square headlights and that theyre pretty much rare!! Does any one know what nissans have those and why?

Something I have been trying to answer myself but it appears to be random which trucks got them and which ones got the lesser H6054 style headlamps. The Pathy front end in your pic is IMO the premium and more expensive front end but what determined which trucks got them is unknown to me. They pretty much stopped installing those on the D21's by 1990 though.

yeah the truck in the pic isnt mine.... i got it from photobucket!!! I was just too lazy to take a pic of my truck!!! i have the square headlights... they were cracked and got a pair from the JY from a pathy!!! But i just realized that not all trucks have those.... and its crazy that you say its the more expensive front end cuz my truck is a base model... no a/c, no power windows or mirrors!!! but thats cool to know that i have those hard to find headlights! =}

It is more expensive part by part. Everything Nissan sells that style Pathy grille alone for $135 I think when you can have the 94-97 grille for around $80 new. OEM new, not talking aftermarket or used.

Ok that's good to know... also one more thing? Is it a direct bolt-on to do a conversion?

As far as I have seen it is a direct bolt on. I am swapping my 95 to the 87 Pathy front end so I will know more as I dig more into the project.

From what I have learned they came on the 88-89 D21. However when I was redoing my front I ended up getting replacements off of a Pathy. I found a new grill on ebay I didnt need it but it was so cheap I could not pass it up.

Hi guys Im trying to swap the grill from a pathy to my 93 hardbody and it seems like im missing something. I got the headlights and the adjuster part from the pathy but they dont like up to mine is there something i missed or do i need to drill some new holes?? Any help would be awesome..
