thats a bracket racing built dragster...

ive swapped messages with chris before, he is only about 300lbs lighter than I am, and is making about the same power i will be. Im shooting for between 400 and 450whp on a 50 shot of spray. i want to make about 380 on bosot with a 60-1... that 50shot will give nearly 100 extra lbs of tq too AND SOONER! =)

454 .060 over, 700ish lift cam, stock heads worked over, oe-style pistons, eagle rods, stock crank, powerglide, rons fuel system (alcohol), 4.10 gears, 15x15 goodyears out back...

heres a picture of the car, i was behind the wheel, went a 10.22 at 132 on that pass, had bad air, usually runs a 10.05 to 10.10 consistantly, its a bracket car, guy i work with owns it.

nova weighs roughly 3400lbs to 3500lbs with driver... it hasnt been weighed in years and being that im a new driver to the car it might weigh less... either way its got 200lbs of lead onboard to help with consistancy

I like bracket racing. It's all about consistency. You could win in your mom's taurus if you run a tick slower than your dial-in every time while the 1000hp trailer queen who is all over the place with his times goes home. You should see the reaction times the local guys turn at the HKS drags. 1.1 seconds?! They must be reading a book or something.

True, it's about 80 times better than most of today's crap. It's on my playlist on my phone, so I must like it that much as least.

I think Sendai is the only permanent dragstrip. All the others seem to be set up for the event and then taken down.

picture a parking lot, a christmas tree running off a generator and sensors under cinder blocks with 400 meters of wire taped to the asphalt to connect them. Ghe-he-toooo. I thought about building an 1/8 mile track but the land alone, just the land, not the clearing and grading of said land to make way for construction, just the land would cost over half a million dollars.Everything is half-assed here, it really makes me mad. I laid my business plan out to the director of track development with IHRA and asked for advice. He said, "you covered everything, solid as a rock". The variable that keeps me from trying, even if I could line up the financial backing for the venture is Japanese people. They refuse to even try to do things correctly. I would be given the runaround from the government and the neighbors because I am a gaijin and because of what I would be building. The contractors would cut every corner they could get away with on a job they would overcharge for in the first place. Bringing the facility into compliance with international standards would be a fight as nobody here seems to care about things like that. I would have to study the codes and inspect things personally and know if they were right or not because nobody gives a crap here. When it was done I doubt any of the local boy's cars would pass the most basic tech inspections thus disqualifying them from even using the facility that cost so much to build. They plumb line locks with copper tubing. Read that again and think about it. One shop's GT-R went through the embankment when it's copper "brake lines" burst. Things like that mean I will not even waste my time and neither will anyone else.

That was a shop car too. Imaging what the homebuilt cars look like. I have seen a 240Z with a 500hp SR swap with the original suspension bushings in it. Ghetto!

you just described a loser. He shouldn't win anything in no form of motorsports. That's why I hate bracket racing... like nascar ...and pinks. --"we'd like 20 cars" "are you nuts? I'm not walking way down there to start any race"-- lol
MeanGreenS13 wrote:our nova drag car runs 10.00 at only 650whp
that nova doesn't have a 5speed gbox

auto box will dyno lower 'hp numbers' and run lower ETs

the S13 dyno'd 700+hp @36psi but gone 10.3 @134mph at 29psi.... while still sorting the car out out.I believe the KA car might go 9s as is, but... an auto transmission will surely send it solid 9s.
MeanGreenS13 wrote:Chris Adams CA18DET UTE... NUFF SAID! 9s all day long at only 430whp
Again, doesn't that ute run an auto transmission also ? Do you know what turbo at what psi the ute runs ?

So you're at 2661 and that ute weighs ~2360 ? That surprises me, as I used to own one in the islands and those minis are *tin cans*!... = roughly starlet weight. Exactly what I said in my previous post.

Seems like a waste of time comparing these two CA18 cars imo."9s all day long", eh ? anyway, we'll see

Your S13 is sorta light tho.... closer to full weight corolla.

What other S13 5speed 4cyl u see gone 9s ? Just curious

not an S13 but an S14... MAZWORX car fyi. car ran deep in the 9s under 800hp.

on thing your SEVERELY overlooking is POWER TO WEIGHT.

my car is absolutely STRIPPED CLEAN, no ac, no heater core, no interior at all, all un-nessicary wiring removed etc.

Does not matter if you have a 5 speed or auto. Automatic is consistant, yes, but sometimes, a 5 speed car is just as fast. Its all about the driver and brother, i promise you i can bang gears with the best of them.

My old mustang... 1995 stock blocked 331 with 150 shot of nitrous... dynoed at 442whp 507tq... RAN 10.43 AT 130... 5 speed...

SUSPENSION IS KEY. REMEMBER THAT OR IT WILL BITE YOU IN THE ***!

another thing... bracket racing... both cars start from the same spot... maybe you should learn up before you shoot off your mouth on this ****. The only thing that changes is when the tree activates... 90% of the time, the faster car doesnt always win.

something else i just noticed is your saying what turbo and how much psi blah blah blah on chris' ute... IT DOESNT MATTER! 430whp is 430whp, dont matter how many psi your running. I can get to 375whp on a 60-1 running under 25psi i garuntee it... and then throw me a 75 shot on top... JUST AS CHRIS DOES, and make 430ish whp... USE YOUR HEAD!

i dont care what you got, how fast it is or what, i will line up against your *** at the track and tree the holy piss out of you all day long then go down the top end of the track and run DEAD ON my dialin, thats how i roll MF. if you aint got anything positive to say dash, go somewhere else. I dont care much for an undereducated prick that coems in here acting all high and mighty. ESPEICALLY towards senior members as well as admins/mods.

and another thing buddy, i said Chris runs 9s all day long... not me.. get your **** straight.

FLAME AWAY BUDDY!!

who doesn't know about MAZWORKS ? There are alot of fast S-chasis cars out there gunning for low ETs. Weight reduction + way more experience, power, resources and brains than you. I was hoping the question would jar your thinking. ....but Nooooo Its allll about YOU right.

Try something a little closer to home;showthread.php?t=1471512650 pound 5spd car goes 9.97.His street ca18 made 440hp atw way back. So you figure, almost 10 years later he needs a T88 on an sr20 in a drag car to make 'roughly' the same power to go 9s. You're even stupider than I thought since you really believe that.
MeanGreenS13 wrote:on thing your SEVERELY overlooking is POWER TO WEIGHT.
FFS sake man, either you have ZERO comprehension skills or u r fkn retarded. Both my posts in this thread stresses weight!!

A stock ute is 1500 and change. How the hell they added 600+ pounds with a ca18 swap ? Class weight limits.... what is it ? Explain
MeanGreenS13 wrote:Does not matter if you have a 5 speed or auto Automatic is consistant, yes, but sometimes, a 5 speed car is just as fast. Its all about the driver

I know first hand of three fast street rwd imports that shaved .4,.6 and .7 off their BEST 5speed times, *same setup*. These are hardcore drivers who've been thru their share of boxes, optimized gearing etc..Many others have also. Why do you think so many go auto ? They don't bracket race, its not for consistency and their gboxes and clutches to hold their torque. Figure it outread this showthread.php?t=157918particularly this interesting comment

quickest full weight daily driver here goes 11.1 on an unopened ca18 on STOCK suspension.I surely don't need your advice - lol

thing is guy, I've said nothing negative. Was a very simple discussion. You're so high (and mighty) on yourself, "how dare anyone have a difference of opion based on facts". Technical dialog was going fine until some sand got up your vag1na.

Senior members ? I've been around from the old nico forums. Been into CA18s from back when info was scarce and no online community. Out of nowhere, I received informative emails from some guy who then owned a fast silvia that he imported from japan that was making well over 400 atw. His name was Mark Mazurowski. Ever heard of him ?Don't let the post count or join date fool ya, girlie.Your assumptions will only make a bigger arse of yourself

alloy oops those links are from the other forum... u know, fresh
