so here's the problem i bought a de swap like a year ago off craigslist no porblems there i installed it at my shop again no problems 3 weeks later im driveing and it spits sputters the whole 9 yards i took all egr crap out i put a new fuel pump (car was throwing black smoke worst then a forest fire ) haha i change the fuel filter this that and the 3rd i took out the intake butterflies every thing so i sed ok what the hell i came on nico and searched read something a bout swaping the kae computer to run it sed ok cool i had one from the single tried it it runs perfect now i had time to get a another de ecu from the junkyard cool right tried it same sh*t then i thought that ecu was bad too so went and got another de ecu still same crap can some one help me out here sorry for the ramble on crap but yeah im tired of haveing a 6k redline and limiter i rather have the 7 7.5 redline and limiter haha

I can only assume that the "Fail" refers to your original post that was lacking in puncuation making it VERY hard to read.

Let's see if I hav ethis correct:Car runs like crud you try swapping a SOHC ECU into your DOHC and it runs good. You think bad ECU so you get another one. It does the same thing.

I am not an expert at all but I always thought you needed a DOHC harness when you do the swap because the DOHC has things like a knock sensor etc that the SOHC does not have.

I would check that you have the correct harness for your engine. Also use the search and check the SOHC to DOHC swap write-ups. Check the steps they say to do and verify they were all properly done.

ok cool thanks for the help on finding the fail .. yeah i know you need the dohc harness i have it in the car im not running the sohc harness it just baffles me how it works . i also have the write up printed out ... i almost have all the wirte ups printed out because i did alot of work to my other hatch, may it rest in piece ( drunk drive slamed it while i was sleeping, he was caught ) but thanks for the reply ...
