so im looking for a rwd sports car again...

well a freind of mine tell me his cousins got a 5.0 for sale... so what do ido i go take a look at it... its no where near stock and its not even explaiable....

it started out as a 91? gt automatic, with a few factory extras, posi, t tops, leather, chromed valvecovers and had the holley 4 barrel (suposed to be the last year that was optional before the 5.0 fule injected came out) well its got a few play toys its got pillar guages, its got a supercharger strapped on it, its got two hoods and two sets of wheels, 1 set of stock (hood and wheels) then its got a new shaker hood installed and its got cobra wheels on it from a 99. true dual exahust (never messed with from factory) thats stainless steel (that may be bs on the factory part idk im not in to stangs enough to know that) got a stage two shift kit, and plenty of nuts... heres the nice part he wants $1000 yes one thousand dollars for it... it was his sons car till he wrecked his dads truck and went to jail for theft... his loss my gain... i got no idea how much hp its making and im not gonna guess for now... ill give more info after i weight it and run it at the track here in a few weeks....

are they real cobra wheels or knock offs? the 99 is a 5 lug car as oppossed to the 4 lug '91 GT.

and what kind of supercharger? please don't say centrifugal...

the Paxton's and Vortech don't seem put down as good a track time compared to a good Roots type or Whipple

I was under the impression they stopped offering T-tops as an option after '88. So that's probably not a '91 there.

No matter the info, sounds like a good deal for $1,000 as long as it runs good.

Also the last year for the carburetor on a 5.0 was 1985 after that they all came with factory fuel injection. So I would tend to agree that its probably not a 91.

If it looks like his first pic and its carbureted then it is either an 84 or an 85. I used to be into mustangs my first car was an 83 GT. Anyway if you are looking for a shaved door handle kit my roommate has a new never installed one that he was going to use on his 90 GT but never got around to it before selling the car. Let me know if you are interested.

The 4.6 DOHC Cobra motor is the sweetness until you try and put some headers on it. My roommate was in the garage for about 18 hours over the last two days changing them on his '03.

I think Ford engineers make stuff hard to work on as a oke. The fuse panel for my 74 mustang is up behind the accelerator. So many a foul word used because of that. :D

yes, the 70's on... espesially the 80's ones. yuck from a looks an handling standpoint.

I'm a firm believer that the only good looking car made in the 80's was the countach and these cars are a prime example why I'm right.

(and yes I think 80's porshes and ferraris are ugly too)

6 hours for sparkplugs on my T Bird:D I know how bad they suck at space engineering, headers should be know more then a few hours worth of work, plugs even less...

Yep you know its bad when you have to unbolt the motor mounts, remove the starter, disconnect the steering shaft etc... just to change headers.

Matt

Edit: But dear god is that car fast. I'll post up its dyno results next friday when we get it done.

No love for the boxy wide bodies? Starion, Supra, 300zx ok so the 300 isn't really a wide body but still. :D

80's Ferraris own! what you smokin?1?!

Testorossa was georgous, and the 308 rocked as well.

Porsche was consistent with the 944 and 928 (the uglier of the two, a bit round)
