Nice build, have you replaced any other bushings besides the steering rack? I would assume they would be toast by now in that car..

Not yet, i know they need it, but for now they will do, that and i need a motor in before summer starts up again. bushings are likely the next project after motor in, and the car is mostly one color.

where did you get the PS rack and pump from and how much did it run you?

~$300+core charges from Advance Autoparts, got a decent price match on the rack, cant remember to where tho.

Got some stuff done:

Installed new heater controls, hopefully these ones work. New hazard light button, same story. Installed a new am/fm antenna, and routed wire to the radio, gotta have my morning buzz, or sound at the drive in.


Mounted the hood and mocked it up, before stripping everything off.


TRUE LOVE is a woman who will climb into your engine bay with a rag in one hand and degreaser in the other...

I'm Still doing body work on the front end!

Hood is done, patched, painted, repinned, and has the washer nozzles fit.


Bumper has its first coat, and should be cured enough to apply the 2nd tonight when i get home from work.


And after an hour and a half of sanding and stripping, one fender has its first coat of primer.


Fenders have a gobstopper effect going, peach paint -> primer -> purple paint -> primer ->green? -> primer > bare metal.
