Hey guys im back after, selling my last 240sx with a red top sr, and going to a honda prelude, well lets just say VTECH really stands for virtually torqless economy car, got bored of the power of that car after only owning it for a couple months, ended up selling it for more then i paid for it so no loss there. really nice car but not for me, So I recently bought a 1992 240sx se hatch, the car is white and is in really good condition,it has a mint 1993 redtop sr with perfect 160 to 165 psi compression across all four cylinders, tested by me before the sale with a snap-on compression tester. engine is all stock so far, running stock bov, and side mount etc.

Before bashing I have spent two hours searching and found nothing that is specific to my car!

The car was running great until today i stopped to fill up at the local shell station, filled up on v-power and went to turn the car on, turned over but wouldn't fire, no usual humm from the fuel pump so i checked the fuel pump fuse and and it is good, so thought well must have burned out the fuel pump since i was running it very low on fuel. The car came with a walbro 255 installed and also came with an extra one he had laying around that was brand new still in its packaging. so i thought well ill change the fuel pump out to the new one. Changed the old walbro 255 out (it did in fact come with one installed) and installed the new one without any issues. went to start the car and still nothing. :wtf2: So I began tracing wires, found nothing out of the ordinary and i wish i had my volt meter with me cause it would have made diagnosing much easier. so i ended up leaving my car at the gas stating for tonight and got my buddy to drive me home.
I have searched this forum alot now and it seems everyone else's 240sx fuel pump plate has four wires going to the fuel tank with four separate srews, mine on the other hand has those four wires going to a single plug with a connector on the fuel tank side, the 4 wires then go from that plug to the fuel pump and the fuel gauge sensor. (two wires to each same way it was connected when it was running fine) iv noticed that the ground wire seems to have melted the plug a bit and the wire is held in the plug loose so im guessing this is my problem, however i cant find a new plug anywhere... So why the f*** is mine setup like this (with 4 wires going a single connector) instead of going to four separate screws like everyone elses that does the fuel pump write ups? this plug style s*** mine has is stupid!

Update, couldnt get the fuel pump to turn on, using my volt meter i know i have 12 volts at the fuel pump harness but for whatever reason the pump still will not turn on, this was very frustrating... I know that the fuel pump is good (it brand new for f*** sakes) and cause i jump it directly to the battery and it turned on no prob, so since it wouldnt work from the original wiring, i ran a positive lead from the battery to the fuel pump, I installed an on/off switch in the dash and an inline 15A fuse. the pump turns on now no problem, but the car ran out of battery juice to try and start it up so i got it towed back to my house, going to try and start it this morning and see if it will fire. However im wondering if there is any safety feature in these cars that wont let it fire without a signal from the fuel pump saying it turned on?
