Ok so i have been battling my 240sx/sr20det swap for a few months now and im about at wits end. so im going to try one more time to find out whats wrong and if not she is gone. The wiring is right, the fuel pump primes, fuel is up to the rail, engine cranks but WILL NOT start. there is no spark, tried 4 different ignitors and i think the damn car keeps blowing them, also i have tried to read codes off the ecu and the little screw in the side of the ecu just keeps spinning and the LED just flashes once and thats it,so dont know what the hell to do about that. Is there a way for the ecu to blow ignitors or is the ecu just plane F'd up. And I really dont know what else to do Im dumb founded and the people of nico are my last shot. Thanks for anything, Jesse

I would say your problem has something to do with the wiring to/from the ignitor. What you need to do is get a DVOM (didgital volt/ohm meter) and with the ignitor out and the DVOM probbed in the right places, have someone crank the motor. There has to be some king of signal to the ignitor and if you get the wrong readings you have just found the culprit. I have no idea how to test the ignitor on the sr20 but someone should or know where to look. Also, next time you go to install the ignitor, spread some contact grease on the metal backing. Thats how it grounds out. You can also open up the ecu to look for any burnt components.

Yeah, I agree with the first reply. If you did the swap yourself make sure you have the correct wiring on the ignitor chip. Check out the Sr service manual, im sure there is a way to test coils. Although i doubt all 4 would be bad. I think there is a restistance check or something for the chip itself to test if the chip is bad. If you were a little closer i would try and help you out personally. If you need information from the service manual for the sr/ 240 shoot me an email [email protected] luck
