Hello, Im new here. I drive a 06 Toyota Matrix XR 4WD, and it has to be the worst piece of **** Ive ever driven, my parents bought it for me. I didnt have a choice they pay for the car and drive it more than me but I drive it to work and school. SO IM saving up for a car myself. I want to buy a G35 so BAD. I really want a Sports Car. Nothing but Sport, And in my area I can buy a Used 03 G35 for about 15k, sedan. I was wondering is this the biggest site for forums?? Is there a more populated forum on the net just for the G35?? Im not into mods, I just like to talk and see G35s. This forum looks a bit weak. Anyone know the best forum site for the G35 club?? I cant wait to buy one.

Welcome aboard, man!

There's probably someplace with more G35 activity, but they don't have the traffic or the tech info we have here...

Are you looking for a sedan or a coupe?

Sedan. I like having 4 doors for some odd reason. But yea. I think G35 looks so nice, and Im very intrigued by the VQ engine, clearly one of the best V6 engines ever made. I cant wait to buy it. I was also wondering. Does the G35 Use only Premiuem Fuel? What if I used Regular fuel? WOuld it hurt the engine? ALso how is the MPG I drive mostly city. Oh and how is the ride height in terms of the drivers position? My matrix rides SO ****ing High I cant get over it. I feel like im driving a SUV. Its a friggin wagon. I hate driving so high. I like driving low to the ground.

To answer some of your questions, do a search on this site. You'll be hard pressed to find a better place to get info on the G35...

The VQ has been voted in the "10 Best" engines category for like 12 years running.

Premium is definitely called for, I'd be wary of lower-octane fuels. Mileage, power will both suffer.

I'm getting 20mpg in my Coupe, but I drive it like it's stolen.

I'm driving a 2006 G35x (AWD) this week, as my Coupe is having some routine maintenance done at the dealer. Phenomenal car. I'd own a Sedan if I needed the extra seating room.

Premium fuel is a good idea. While no short term problems will occur with low octane fuels, higher octane fuels have more detergents. As a result teh combustion chamber stays cleaner of deposits. Carbon deposits inside a high compression motor like the one in the G35's can end up increasing the chances of knock. Minimally, you would expect a drop in performance and mileage if the knock sensor has to compensate for the lower knock threshold. Worst case scenario, you damage the motor.

Ride hight in the sedan is normal compared to the coupe they are like two different cars in that way. I would say I sit about 3 inches lower in my coupe then in the sedan's that I use while my car is in the shop.
