G'Day SiWhilst trying to fix my taillight problem I pulled out all the boot lining and found these 2 little white wires just beside the LH reverse light so I connected them to a spare 12v battery and the INFINITI name and badge lite up just like yours. Looks fantastic

Cool! Is it some thing standard on the Q45's available in Australia?

Can a current Q45 owner check this out here too?

Yeah its semi ricey , but looks great and subtle (spell check, im drunk) Looks like it should have been a factory thingy. If it wasnt still 100 degrees here id go pull my boot(trunk) lining and see if i can find those lovely wires

Both Si's car and mine are JDM imports and I didn't realise mine had the illumination until I pulled the BOOT (Trunk) lining out to check for a short in the tailights. Why don't you try it and lets know how you get on. Its prety easy to remove just pop the plastic lugs that hold the lining in place and see if you have 2 little white wires comming out of a gromet near the reverse lights. When I get the Q back from the Auto elect shop tonight I'll take a pic for you.

itll be the first thing i do after work tomorrow!!Although i probably know they left this wonderful feature out on the us cars (they hate us right?lol) Ill try anyway. Would really spruce up the backend at night. But then id have to figure out how to hook it into the main line. and i hate electricity, it tends to jolt me a bit

You should be able to insert and image, using the IMG tags, but you're correct as the "attach" and image function appears to be missing???

I'll look into it.

EDIT: Fixed it.

Use a file compressor like adobe photoshop or microsoft picture manager most any picture software will have an EXPORT\"Web Ready"image tool.

Make sure the file is not too large most digital camera take photo WAY too large for posting.

Or you email them to me and I'll post them for you!!

Hey CrimsonI've emailed GreenQ45a the pics as he suggested and he will post them for me (Thanks Green) I also have that brown plug and don't know what it's for. The 2 white wires I'm talking about come out of that round hole in the boot they then connect into a little black plastic box (maybe a transformer) the 2 wires that come out of the little black plastic box are a black one and a red one they are would be pluged into the tail light harness if I ever find the reason my tail lights keep blowing fuses.Good Luck Aussie

Good thinking Wes. I guess that could be tested by connecting a bulb up and putting your foot on the brake pedal. Here is a better pic of the illumination wireing.
