Illinois/Midwest Vert Gathering August '06

I am tossing around the idea of organizing an informal gathering of vert owners. If at all possible, Chicagoland area or elsewhere in Illinois would probably make it a little easier to plan. I have not yet had the chance to sit around and kick tires with other vert owners and I think it might be a good opportunity to discuss details and do a little learning/teaching.Depending on the level of interest, I could step this up and formalize it into an actual event.For now I thought I would plant the seed. Is anyone in or around the area? Would anyone be interested in the opportunity? I would prefer to shoot for a weekend in August.

For those that are dependent on which weekend we choose, what would work for you? What wouldn't work? At this point we are looking at 5+ verts if the timing is right.I'll hold out for a bit to see who else is interested.

Any weekend except the last in August is good for me. I really need it to be later than sooner as my car is currently not running... I'll need a little time to get it back together. (new intake manifold project on the RB20).

Just and idea.... We might consider opening up the invite to all 240sx owners. We certainly would group together as 'vert owners, but it would be fun to have other 240's around as well. Plus we'd get a lot better showing of poeple as well.

I don't argue. I suppose we can open this up. I would like to keep this a little bit tight knit though. It'd be nice to have an easy going informal gathering with no show boating and no big egos. I'd hope that us vert owners can act a little more mature than the crowds I've seen at other gatherings. I'd hate to have to pack it in because the police showed up after some joker started trying to drift and pull smoke shows in the parking lot.

Working on it. Hopefully I can drum up a few more people. How would august 19th or 20th sound to everybody? Eikon, will that give you enough time to get the vert up and running?

I hope so. I was supposed to have the car back together a month ago... But, yeah.. I think I'll be able to get it together.

I think that weekend works well for me. The next one is booked... so that one is good.
