Sounds like your clutch is gone.

Buy a clutch, install it, no more worries.

BTW, if the rpm's are rising, but your just not going anywhere, then the clutch is the problem. The smell would be like burning brakes. Good luck.

lol, one of your clutch bearings is gone or the plate is smoked. Just grab a new one at a local parts place for like $160ish. Or go better stuff and buy an aftermarket one for like 300.

Well, if is the clutch, and you can't tell what it is, I suggest not installing a new one yourself.

Installing clutches is a total b****.

clutches are not that bad... It all depends if you can lift the car up at all (i.e. lift or jack stands)

someday i will have a lift, working on the ground sucks, esp on a lowered car. and yea your clutch is gone and its not that hard to do....might want to replace your rear main seal while you are right there if you plan on keeping the ka long term. gl either way, i dont think a shop will charge you much if you need someone else to do it for you, or find a local mechanic and pay him off the clock to do it at your house and watch to see how everything is done.
