I can get a brand new VF30 for a price $1300 AUD, i was going to use a Turbonetics T3/T4 but the cost purchasing this turbo is well out of my budget, $2000 AUD.I am focusing more on response & mid range torque (daily driver), my power goal is approx. 200kw at the wheels (270hp). Will be intially boosting 5-7psi.

Is anyone on NICO running one on a KA? (E/DE, doesn't matter)

BTW, the car is a FWD U12 Pintara (australian version of the Stanza) with the KA24E; solid lifters, 262/264 custom cam, quad throttles (upcoming), Perfect Power SMT6 piggyback ECU, 700x230x65 FMIC (installing with turbo).

IHI makes a good turbo, I don't have any experience with that turbo on a KA motor though. Alot depends on trim. The above links are for the T3/TO4 for good prices and a shop that makes manifolds and other parts. Best of luck...

Thanks anyway WD, but i'm extremely hesistant to purchase anything from overseas as i'm in australia, just too much hassle if i have to make a warranty claim. I've been over the available details and compressor maps for the RHF55 comp housing about a billion times making sure it'll flow enough to boost upto 20psi on the KA, and it looks extremely promising. The equivalent AR on the turbine side is approximately 0.63 on the VF30, the exhaust turbine is infact only a little smaller than a standard trim T3.I'm going to contact the supplier if he can get a VF22 for around the same price, again this turbo is good for 450hp, 0.71 AR on the hotside and ball bearing CHRA.

Thanks sonorous, it should be some real competition for the few SR20DET'd Pintaras that are floating around near me.
