I just bought a stick-shift 1993 Nissan 240sx. How can I find out if the engine is KA24E or KA24DE or what?

Also, how can I find how much HP my car has? And any other specifications that might be helpful?

Also, a friend of mine told me that my engine looks like a 1996 240sx engine. Is there any way of proving or disproving this?

Your engine is the KA24DE. Dual overhead cam, 2393cc. Yes it is identical to the '96 engine.

At the crank, it makes 155 hp@550rpms, and 160 ft/lbs@3600rpms.

The 96 has way way more vaccume lines for emissions garbage, internal coil distributer, and the list goes on. But yeah its almost exactly like a s14 engine.

Also depending on the build month you may or may not have the 240-248 cams and secondary butterflies aka swirl controll valves.

here is what you do: remove spark plug wires, then spark plugs. take off the valve cover-if there are two cams-you have the ka24de, if there is one cam-its the ka24e-if there are no cams-put everything back together and sell your car!!

first u dont have to remove spark plugs to take off the coversecond all u have to do is read the valve cover "TWIN CAM 16 VALVE" if u dont know which engine is which
