my friend finished his sr20det swap in his s14 and lost his ignitor chip. I have searched and did not find the info I needed. Basically my ? is.... do any of the american sr20 vehicles have a ignitor/transistor and are they compatible with the sr20det? THANKS

You didn't try hard enough.

But the answer to that is 95+ q45

Don't even bother with that... With my dealer discount it was $456 from an Infiniti Dealer and not much cheaper used/online. Order an ignitor from phase2, HT, enjuku, JGY, etc... They should all have them in stock.

Not much cheaper used online? There's always used ones going for half that price with your discounted price at the Infiniti dealership. Those ignitor chips go for around $150-250.

Yes you can look around and maybe find one for $150-250 or you could pay $250 and ahve it there the next morning. Still much cheaper than the Q45, it's new, and you're supporting the SR shops... All good things in my opinion!

or you could get one for $50 bucks on ebay, the igniter chips from CA18's work and are incredibly cheap. Or go to a pick and pull junkyard and yank one off a q45 for $25.
