For anyone that has replaced these harnesses that connect the ignitor chip to each of the coils, how much did they run you?

I called Infiniti of Scottsdale today and the guy said his part number pulls up $127.XX but he couldn't tell me whether it was for one or the pair. I wish CourtesyParts.com listed Infiniti stuff!

Nissan dealers are not supposed to sell Infiniti parts to protect the inventory holding costs of Infiniti dealers.

In the boondocks where the state doesn't have a Infiniti dealer or overseas they are allowed to order and sell.

The discount Scottsdale offers is the usual trade discount for independents, we do get another 5% but are volumes are tremendous for our local dealers.

As far as I can remember we've never change this harness, they do get brittle and crack but still work unless butchered.............find an engine in a junkyard wreck and liberate.

I would expect many State Fanchise Laws would prohibit such cross DIVISIONAL Sales.

Darn, I wish I would have known this. I've discarded at least a couple of sets from my parts cars since I thought the were too brittle for reuse. The fuel injector and KS harnesses apparently have a little higher standards than the lowly (and easier to get to) coil harnesses?

If the price quoted is for a pair I'll dump my Q and buy a Yugo. I'm pretty sure the price was for one bank only.

I'm assuming that price is only for a single one too, but I remembered reading the knock sensor harness was only $50 or something.

Thanks Q45tech...I was also curious how that worked. I've got a local Nissan dealership I go through for a lot of parts and the parts guy said they could get *some* Infiniti parts, like oil filters and the like. The closest Infiniti dealer to me is in Denver (an hour away) so I normally just order parts from Infiniti of Scottsdale.

The harnesses that I've got are extremely brittle, and some of the copper strands appear to be damaged. One of the plugs to go on a coil is damaged as well, so I think a full harness replacement might be easiest. I'm hoping they really aren't $260 for the pair, but I should know better by now!

To replace EVERY PART in an old Q45 would probably cost $45,000 plus labor at the dealers and there are things no longer available like rear subframe

Why do you think I have a $20,000* inventory in my garage

Obviously used good parts are only worth 10% of new MSRP.

For the past 5 years I had almost everything I needed in stock except a new KS harness.

Many times it is less expensive to buy a whole junker just for a few parts spend a day or two stripping [invest $700 in personal labor] then ship to junkyard.

If you have the time you can probably rebuild the stock ones by removing the pins and prying them off and attaching new wires to them. It will take forever but it's possible. I'm a cheapskate so I would at least try to rebuild them before plopping down 250 for some wires.

But if they have good ohm readings you can always just wrap each wire in tape separately for the time being.

I was thinking of just adding new wires, but at least a couple of the connectors are broken too. I found a set from a guy on here for $45, but I was just hesitant since he said they are a little stiff but still in good shape. Guess I should probably just get those.
