how do i test the ignitor chip for a s13 redtop setup? if someone who has actually done it could tell me what they did, that would be great. i tried it with a multimeter using the fsm for a s14 sr20det and it didn't seem to be right. i just want to doublecheck.

i did do a search but to search the posts bodies wasn't working for some reason.

S13 and S14 use the same igniter chip, you did the test wrong.

i don't really see how i could have done it wrong, it's pretty simple in the fsm. all it says to check for is you have continuity between the terminals or you don't.

the reason i was testing it is because my #2 cylinder is misfiring. the coilpack if fine as well as the injector. i've narrowed it down to the ignitor chip or maybe even the ecu. i have a new walbro fuel pump so it shouldn't be fuel related, but i'll have to check that again.

when i tested it with my multimeter it wasn't giving me any continuity between any of the terminals with either polarity according to the chart in the fsm, that's why it really didin't seem right. any other input would be appreciated.
