Hi all

I am just "done" with my SR20DET conversion on my S13 and everything seems to be working on the electrical part EXCEPT that it does not start at all. I get no spark when I turn the key around.

I spoke to one who gave me a hint about the "ignitor chip". Gues I have missed that part out or something. but it is wierd. I have built my system and elctrical stuff for working with what Nissan call "Power Transistor Unit" and it should work as it is now. But then once again I heard this about the "ignitorchip". I just simply assumed it was the same thing but maybe it wasn't?. I searched for it abit on the forum and on ebay and it sure do looks the same also...... What might be the "simpliest" causes of the engine not starting?

Does anyone have a picture of the ignitorchip when it is Mounted in the car? Also. How many wires goes in to it and how many goes out from it?

I got one ignitorchip from my old CA engine with 4wires in and 5 out. But Ive heard that there is other versions with 5in and 5 out, I got a fealing that that is what I need?

Please help me and tell me all you know about this ignitor chip.

for example is it just simply mounted after the ECU and how and so on?..

tell me all You know about it please.wants to get this engine going yesterday allready! :-D

Looks like that, should be located in the passanger side area towards the back of the harness. Follow the coilpack harness back to the ignitor.

Anyone know if the ignitor has to be mounted to that bracket? Is that some sort of ground since the back of the ignitor is metal? Is it o.k. just have the ignitor hanging, hel up by the harness?

You can take the igniter chip off the plate. No big deal.

You should be able to find a spot on the right inner fender well that has two predrilled holes and they will fit the ignitor perfectly. Just bolt it up and you're all set. You can let it hang but why make it look ghetto if you dont have to.

I mounted my ignitor on the passenger side shock tower also. I just bent the mounting bracket so I could put bolt through both side.

That way you dont have to extend all those wires.
