ignitor chip, and MAf sensor questions ?

I am doing an SR swap. and i was planning on using the ignitor chip, and MAF sensor off of a 300zx. I know i have to use the plugs from those part as well. I also have a wiring diagram for both to wire them into my SR harness. My question is will i have to change the programing or add anything like a piggyback to the ECU ? I was told without such additional upgrade my car will run like crap using the 300zx parts.But i have not found anything to support that.
