I want to put in a kill switch. Should I put it on the white wire? And the blue wire seems to be the switched +12 volt line. If I want gauges to switch on when the car is on----do I use the blue wire?

Are you looking to put in a total kill like some race tracks require or just a way to turn off the motor without useing the key. Or are you looking to install a hiden switch as a theft deturent?

Differant answers depending on what you want to do.

I also need to know which wire you would put a switch on for preventing the car from starting.

I'll assume you're talking about a fuel pump kill switch. Here's a write up on doing it, the pictures are broken but it's fairly simple.

What I want to do is put a switch into the wire that turns off the engine when the key is switched off. So if the switch is open....the engine would never start.......although the starter will turn.

i just tapped into my fuel pump fuse and stuck some extended wires where the fuse was and put a switch where the fuse was. i just put the fuse inline w/ the wires. the car can start, but it'll die after a few seconds after it loses fuel pressure. thats my hight tech alarm anti-theft system. (only used it once)

The blue wire from the ignition switch is 12volts switched. So when you run the engine you always have 12volts there.
