So i have been struggling with this little issue for a little while now, let me break it down for all you fine folks.

I finally get this KA24e running in my 510. I drove it around and noticed a rattling type noise so naturally i pulled the valve cover to notice my chain guide is broke. Thinking that this is what i am hearing, i replaced it. I fired it up and to no avail, the noise is still there. Then i began to think outside the box, and i thought to myself "that sounds like detonation". so I put the ol timing light on and BAM! For some reason or another it is advancing to 60+ degrees before TDC according to the dial, at around 2500-3000 rpms, free rev, no load on the engine I've tried a different distributor and a different ecu both in known working condition. Anyone ever have this problem? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever remove or do anything with the oil pump/distributor? They might not be lined up properly. I remember the FSM saying the half moon shaft of the oil pump should be pointing in a certain direction when you look down the shaft of the distributor hole with distributor off at TDC
