ignition switch rebuild

do any of you know how to get the key part of the switch out so it can be rebuilt ? some times the key does not what to turn.

come on someone must know how to get the lock cylender out is there a trick to it?

I would take it to a professional Locksmith; they will be able to figure it out for you. My Q does the same thing when I use the original key that came with it. I got a fresh key made and I haven't had any problems since.

The eitire ignition switch must be removed... it clamps on to the steering column with "sheer head" security screws that must be drilled out. You can order replacement screws, or just put in Hex head screws with the proper thread size.

Although some locksmiths can rebuild these, I would lean toward replacement unless you really trust your locksmith to tell you if the problem is worn wafers or other worn components in the lock.
