so i'm doing another install, and for some reason, i'm getting 12v coming back from the coil packs to the output side of the ignitor.... these wires should be 0v or less than 1v (just the ignition signal from ignitor). when the sub harness isn't plugged into the coil packs, the 12v isn't there... so my coilpacks are (for some odd reason) connecting their 12v power source to the signal wire from the ignitor chip.... my voltage from the ecu to the input of the ignitor is normal.... i'm sure that this is not healthy for the new ignitor either.... please help if you can....matt

oh, the resistance from terminal a to terminal b in my coil packs is 1.2-1.3 ohms.... i think that this is fairly normal..... but i also have full continuity between the same 2 terminals.... can any tech guys confirm or tell me mine are bad?!!??!!??!!

ok, so i checked another sr20det, and they have the same thing, so my bad.... so what else could be preventing spark? the ignitor is working (so says my s00zx mechanic) and everything else looks good... could it be the computer? thx

you may have a poor connection or a bad crank angle sensor.. Seeing how you do Installs on engines I assume you have a DSO. Hook it up and moniter the output signal from the sensor and see if you are getting a signal to the ecm signal wire. set your DSO up as follows 5v per division and 20msec per division you should see a very repetitive square wave pattern while cranking with the occasional spike in one of the triggers this indicates TDC.
