I also noticed last night (while working on the pulley) that i was getting a rattling sound from the distributor cap. i removed the cap and noticed that the rotor was rattling. the set screw is tight and the stud it mounts on is not what's causing this. is there a simple way to correct this, since i just replaced all the ignition components less than 10k miles ago. my thoughts were to remove it find a small teflon piece to place in there to secure it, but thought surely someone else has had this happen. any takers on ideas?

I removed the rotor to inspect the distributor and found that the ring the rotor attaches to (with the pilot screw hole for rotor) is the culprit of the "rattling/clicking" sound. Is this something that can be corrected or do i need to drop $150 on a new distributor?
