its definitely something ELECTRICAL...just started this morning after the eye of Sandy

all the dash lights will not light up (as if the battery got disconnected) but I try reinserting the key in > turn it then it will start although it takes a couple of tries before it finally turns....

now I looked under the hood and there seems to be some water in the fuse box splashed there somehow because of the strong cyclonic winds / also checked the ignition fuses (80a and I 4got the other)...battery is somewhat wet too...put a shop towel in between the fuse box cover closed (after wiping the excess water)...so far I made it back to work typing this

is this just moisture affecting the ignition??? should I put clingwrap around the fusebox to avoid this problem??? or what? :)

I would wait for everything to dry out. Maybe spray things that appear wet with electrical contact cleaner (battery terminals, fuse box, etc). Leave the battery disconnected too.

I hope Sandy didn't do too much damage otherwise! :)

(sorry typing on the fly...NO TIME TO ARRANGE WORDS....)
Thanks MAN!
figured...just came from the adv auto...just bought shop towel roll...maybe I should wrap the inner/lower of the fuse box with cling wrap...saw the ballast of the cheap HID lights I got from ebay wet too...but still works fine...still rainin though so it will take awhile to dry out...

was driving in Sandy yesterday wasnt so bad in my region...truck could handle it...had a cargo carrier ontop too

(not sure i understood you 100%, but this is assuming you put a shop towel in with the fuses and closed it up)
Watch out with the towel in the fuse box. If there is a electrical flow and it arcs it could catch fire when your not around.
