I just tried to install a MSD 6AL on my KA..and as far as i know it, it is a used ignition. I also have to test to see if it's faulty, which i think it is, I put the tach adapter and everything, but haven't done that spark test to see if it's faulty. I tried to connect the original wires back, and now it doesn't crank over!?!? no check engine light or nothing, it just won't crank over. any ideas?

go ahead and reset your computer, according to the directions in the FAQ of 240sx.org. If that doesnt work check to make sure all the wiring harnesses are connected and you have at least 13v on the battery with the ignition off. If that doesnt work, come back for more help.

i've already reset my computer, i don't think it's a battery problem..i haven't tried yet, but it might be low that's why it's not able to crank over...cuz the harness is in. cuz it sounds like it could start, like normally, but it just doesn't turn over..arrg..i'll try the battery tomorrow..need some more suggestions =P

Same thing happened to me and it was my starter, I had to bang on my starter get it to turn over but it was getting stuck in the same spot, although i dont know why it happened with you putting your ignition in, make sure to check it, but be prepared to pay $170 for a new starter, although, the swap is a piece of cake.

well..i checked the battery, and it's fine. i wouldn't know why the starter would go bad if i was changing my ignition. The car is a 97 and i'm not sure if it needs to have been changed already. bang my starter huh..the good ol' stick should do it =P any other suggestions

basically, i blew a fusible link by reversing the wires on the msd..then i replaced the fuse..and took off the msd..now my wires are back to stock...but my car won't start. It tries to crank twice..then a short pause..then twice again..etc..the battery voltage drops to 9.6 when trying to start..then back to like 12. something when not starting...don't know if the starter is at fault..the ecu said that there are no problems..so..wondering if it is possible to blow the circuit on the starter...or what..please..any suggestion is a great one..thanks!
