here we go....i have a 90 240sx...when i used to try to start the old motor i would hear a clicking sound untill something finally grabs and the car would start..i switched out the starter and no results....Well now i took out that old ka24e motor and am swapping in a 95 ka24de motor...well i cranked that motor and it does the exact same clicking thing before starting up.......would that little switch where your key goes in be the problem...or what...LMK

eric....I'm so close to cranking up the 95 motor in my 240...i have a open header right now and don't feel like scaring the neighbors....does any one know if i can use the ka24e MAF....for this 95 motor

Chances are, your grounding cables are so old and rusty that it probably is provding poor connection to your starter. What I would do is redo all the grounding wires and perhaps the positive wires.

I didn't suggest it just because you know, my sisters 91 hatch had the same problem and that was how I solved it.

Yeah, sounds like wiring to me. It's amazing what problems the increased resistance of old, coroded wires will cause.
