Ok, well tonight I hopped in my car to go cruise. I got on the highway and got to cruising speed, popped it in 5th and the car just started violently bucking and jerking, like the throttle signal was going on and off fast like I was repeatedly pressing the throttle.. I checked all fuses, relays, and such to no avail. As a last attempt to remedy the problem I loosened up the dist. and advanced as much as I could, this put a stop to the bucking at low rpm cruising.
Mind you I have an all stock ka24de, only altercation is my stock intake cam is rotated ccw by 1 tooth, and the timing at the dist. was set at about 17btdc or so and it's been running fine for a few months until tonight. I really don't think it's the cam's position as I've had the 248/248 setup in stock positions as in 'no teeth rotated' for about a year without any problem.
Could the timing somehow got thrown off?? .. I did spray some pb blaster on the steering knuckle next the exh. manifold and I got a little on the o2 sensor, could that have affected it because before I sprayed it ran fine... I checked my cap and rotor and wires, everything is good on those parts and all the injectors are clicking like they should be.. Tomorrow I'm going to swap out some parts with another of my 240's and see but if you guys run across this and know something please let me know, I just sold my body kit today to get some money for a clutch and stuff so I can transplant that motor into another shell.. thanks in advance, I'll be sure to follow up with this when I find the culprit
