what is the job of evap canister?

Hi,

I am having ignition problem in my 1998 Inifiniti i30. It takes more than one try with the key to start the car, specially when the weather is hot. It also has check engine light on. I took it to dealer. They told me that the error codes are P0450 and P1446. The EVAP cannister and valve needs to be replaced to solve ignition problem.

My question is, does the ignition problem and EVAP cannister related? Doesn't seem to me!!!! Seems P0450 and P1446 is just for check engine light. Did anyone have similar problem? Please reply....

The fact that the light is on and error codes present means those 2 items must be fixed whether you are having problems starting the car or not......so why not fix those 2 problems first and see if your hard start condition goes away? Most likely all related.
