Do you know how to disable the locking thing on the ignition??? My car was broken into a long time ago. Since then, when I go to take the key out, I have to stick my finger between the cylinder and the button, and depress a lever. It sucks.

If you know how I can fix this, let me know. Thanks.

ive got the same issue.there is a solenoid that is supposed to flip that mechanism up. it could be that or the whole ignition switch (which is damn expensive).

Oh yeah. You should see my finger. The skin above the nail has vacationed at the Knuckle.

The lock cylinder is only held in by two bolts. take them out and fix the problem.

yes two bolts that are designed to go in once, and never come out.

All you have to do is notch them with a chisel and they come right out. I have dropped them on more than a few cars. On my S13 it took about 5 minutes to get the covers off, notch it, and unscrew them.

i had this same problem kind of. my solution was to bust out the dremmel and make a small notch in the 2 bolts on the underside of the locking mech. after that i just took my screw driver and unscrewed them. took my ignition to the lock smith along with all my other locks and wala all new locks so no previous owners can unlock my car. the lock smither guy did the 2 door locks, ignition and the hatch lock for $50.
