I always leave the lights in the auto position and when I went out later this morning I noticed the lights dim and the vehicle would not start. I jump started it and now I notice that the ignition key indicator lite stays on when driving and when I stop and turn off the engine it remains on unless I open and close the drivers door. I have replaced the battery in the key fob but the indicator light on the dash remains lit. All other functions on the key fob function normally. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Does it do the same thing when you dock the i-key in the port below the trunk release? If so, you need to go to the dealer because it seems as if the car isn't reading the key correctly. If not, you may just have a damaged/faulty key.

I had a buddy who had something similar happen with his sedan where quirky things were happening with that, and problem ended up being a bad alternator.

Tried both key fob in the docking station symptoms are the same, eliminated both keys by replacing the battery in both fobs the problem remained. This morning the problem seemed to have gone away as everything is back to normal. Seems to me that some relay malfunctioned but to be safe I have an appointment at the Dealer to have it checked.

Good call. Post back once you find out what the dealer says. I'm very curious as I've never heard of something like this happening.

Had the dealer do a through check of the vehicle and they found no problems. I believe it was just a sticking relay but who knows unless it occurs again and it shows up on the test. Has not reoccurred since.
