I replaced the fuel pump a while back when my stock pump did not have any continuity. For a while I was able to drive my car. Recently, as I was driving, it would just die out. My radio and lights wouldn't dim at all, but the engine would just stall out. No sputtering, no rough idle. The car then just cranks over and doesn't start up again. I replaced the cap, rotor, and plugs since it definately seems to be an issue with ignition. I feel like an idiot for asking, but what else should I check for besides power to the coil and distributor as well? I'm just curious as to any scenerios.

Check the fuses and the harness connector to the coil; if OK, lay a spare plug on top of the valve cover and plug it into each spark plug wire one at a time to check for spark. If no spark to any cylinder, the coil or power transistor or crank angle sensor or ECU may be bad.

Before it started raining, I was able to test some and there is power going to the coil (11 to 12v when ignition is on). I doubt that the crank angle sensor or ecu is bad since it was running fine before and intermediately cut out under normal driving conditions. I think it could be the coil or distributor itself..... but I'll have to wait till the weather clears up -.-.
