My car keeps blowing ignition fuses. I just had it looked at and they thought it was the ignition relay's. They replaced those and I picked the car up today. However the same problem occured. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong???

Ignition fusable links? This is in an s13 (im guessing from the SN) or an s14.... Also does it just come and go, basically at random?

If its a s13 and its blowing fusables radomly I would check into the main harness for a short in the primary ignition wire.

If its an s14 I would check the left front of the head where the breather tube goes accross as its common for s14's harness to get worn through at that point from a bolt on the head. It likes to catch the primary (bk/r iirc) throwing you off to the side of the road with no clue as to what went on and a few hours of diagnotics with a multimeter and a fsm the next day before you find this out.... I had that problem obviously and spent many hours finding the exact short, repaired the wire, wraped the harness with a 1/2 id 3/4 od silicone house then algamating rubber tape, later to find this is what nissan does as well (well heater hose and elec tape).

So um yeah I would check the harness first.

No problem.. Glad I could help :)

I mention to everyone I see with an s14 to check this area to save problems and headaches down the road. Also when this question comes up for the s14 I always think of this.

SO if anyone sees this I would advise them to check it now and if the harness is sitting on that bolt tape around any wear and then add a peice of hose sliced in the middle around the harness and wrap with more tape... :)

It has been the only wiring type of problem I have come across and was embedded into my brain as; it left me on the side of the road, I tried to figure it out on the side of the road to no avail, my windows where down and it started to rain so I had to manually jump the window motors to put them up, Its the only time my cars been towed, and I went through EVERY peice of hardware associated with it the next day before tracing the harness to find this short (a few hours of head scratching)...

So far thats 2 Ive helped on this hehe..
