Can anyone out there that can help find ignition control module (2) for a 1990 Q45. The price I received first was 1500.00 and I went online to search and found it for 140.00. But then the guy stated that he didn't have it for my car. I need to find this part at a lower price asap.

The ECU is the brains of the car. It controls ignition to all plugs similar to the way that distributors do. But as a distributorlesss ignition system (DIS) each plug has it's own coil and current is passed to the coils via an ignitor box on each head. ECUs rarely fail. Maybe if you gave us some background we could figure out which one you need. If you're missing spark to one bank only then you may just need the ignitor box.

Well it has 196,000 miles. I had the converters replaced and the car still would not start it's like it want to crank but it doesn't turn over. The mechanic put it on the control and he stated that the control module was bad and I needed to replaced both of them.

Well that eliminates the ECU...maybe. What are the odds they would both die at the same time after all these years?I've heard stories on here about guys going into the shop because they have a miss in one cylinder, and the shop replaces all the coils in both heads.Ask around in Infiniti General. There are Qs being parted out and you should be able to score a deal. I'm not conviced, but at least if you get them used you won't have spent too much.

Sounds like failed chain guides to me.

I kinda have to agree. The Qs electronics, by and large, are pretty bulletproof... Except for our friend the MAF and the knock sensors!!!

Alamda - Again, I really would recommend taking your Q to a dealership or at least someone who knows Qs. Failure of that part is very rare.

Dae - here's a theroy I just came up with. If the guides had failed and the left bank completely lost time (chain dropped) the CAS wouldn't call for spark, right?

True. Neither crank sensor would work. Quickest way to determine that would probably be to remove the CAS cover and see if the wheel spins when the car's cranked.
