I have what is turning out to be a royal pain with a p1320 code. The car is running perfect however due to the "check engine light" being on I cannot get the car inspected. My mechanic said the issue isn't with the coil itself but with how it reports it's status to the computer. He is having trouble finding which coil it is. As there are 87,000 miles on the car I was going to just replace all of them. However, I have seen reports that after market coils might not be the way to go. and from all I can see the OE coils are VERY expensive. can anyone suggest coils that will work and not kill the bank?
Thanks in advance for any help
Russ

I get coils from where I work for about $65 a piece. These are the "Standard" line of ignition supplies. From what I've seen, this is the cheapest I can get them around, due to my employee discount. But even at that price, you are looking at roughly $500 for coils... At the parts store, you are looking at roughly $100 a piece, so $800 dollars for coils. On a 13 year old car, I would be trying to find out which one is causing the issue, or if you are having an electrical issue with the harness possibly. PM me and I may be able to hook you up with the coils we sell at work via some sort of secure transaction (Paypal, etc.) If that is the route you are wanting to take.

thanks for your response Stouring, I cannot PM you as I haven't perticipated enough on this board to allow it I did find this however.http://www.buyautoparts.com/buynow/2000 ... 96_F8.html $261 fo9r eight. Money back and good ratings I might try them. The trouble is the car is running perfect;ly ( it was owned by a 90y/o who hardly drove it for the last few years.) I got it for 5k so I don't mind putting some $$ into it but I don't have it this month.

That seems very cheap... I would be wary of buying those. I didn't see a brand name either... Sounds like you have a nice car, but you will have to end up putting money into it now with ignition coils and knock sensors, since you are coming up to that mileage.

How long you going to keep the car?? A long time, then call everythinginfiniti.com and get OEM ones and do them all, but new spark plugs in too and your probably done for years.

I haven't had to do mine yet (97k on the odo) and I hope to run the old girl for 1 more solid year and move to the next car....if I had a place to park the Q I would keep it, but next ride will have to get better gas mileage.

I got the same price from FCP Groton a few hears ago and they were Hitachi.

Reported code seems wrong as usually there will be a misfire code.
