Is there any way of testing the coils to see if any of them are bad? It's on a 1996. My mechanic mentioned a $60 engine analysis test that "might" show some ghost codes, but I don't want to pay this if it's not a sure thing.

Thx!

If you are looking for codes, you can do it yourself with a screw driver and a few minutes. These links are both in the How-to/Information sticky at the top of this forum.

Check here to learn how to pull the codes.

Check here to learn what the codes mean. Look at the CEL Flash Code #'s to find the corresponding problem.

If a coil is bad, it will show as a cylinder misfire.
