Hi have a 1985 300zx turbo . Now I got fire from the Ignition to the coil but nothing coming from the coil. could that be a bad coil or the ecm . The car run fine a year ago when I parked it now the silly thing won't start . no fire or power to the fuel pump. please help. Danny

you want to check the coil for continuity across the primary and secondary circiuts. In other words the positive and negative of the coil and then from either the positive negative to coil output. then take those numbers and reference them against a new coil most autopart stores have the correct readings if you call and ask them.

so you have hot at the coil right? jsut no ignition signal? it's kinda tricky to check but the ignitor next to the ecu is a common point of failure for the z31
