So I decided to test my ignition coil today to further narrow down what could be causing my almost complete absence of any torque, and it reads 1.7ohms resistance where the FSM says it should be "approximately .7ohms" while 1 ohm isnt a whole lot, its more than twice what the fsm says, so my question is this. Is that within an acceptable range? Should I replace it? would said problem cause a lack of torque? thanks in advance for the help with my gremlin chasing.

For the price of a coil, yes, you should definitely replace it. Your problem very well COULD be caused by a bad coil, but it could be caused by a combination of things as well.

im thinking of going with the msd blaster 2, my question is this, do i need the msd tach adapter to make my tach work? and what happens to that third wire that plugs into the oem coil on that peg? what is that wire even for? and do you infact need the ballast resistor that comes with the 8203? i ask because the blaster 2 coil has primary resistance at .7ohms wich is the same as the oem coil.
