My motor is finally running and now im starting to work out the little kinks. I just replaced the plugs, rotor, cap, and wires but every 10 seconds or so I can hear a little miss in the engine. I don't know if this is the proper way to diagnose the problem but I put the timing gun clamp on the coil wire and everytime I hear the sputter, the gun does not light up. It's only for a split second but the only thing I could think of was the ignition coil. Any suggestions on where else to look would be great, and also, if it is the coil, should i spend the big bucks for a good one or does it really make a difference what kind I get?

when I've had to test out parts like that I usually get a buddy of mine with a good running car and do a quick part swap if the part is an easy to swap part. If it is the ignition coil. you could swap that in and out in a minute or two and find out...
